So here is an update on our travel plans. These are pretty concrete, so fairly reliable.

Thursday, 08/13: Leaving for Anaconda around 7 a.m. ~ Estimated arrival 8:00 p.m.

Sunday, 08/16: Leaving for Moscow around 7 a.m. ~ Estimated arrival 1:00 p.m.

Tuesday, 08/18: Leaving for Coeur d'Alene around 7:00 p.m. ~ Estimated arrival 9:00 p.m.

***Friday, 08/21: RECEPTION DAY!***

Saturday, 08/22: Leaving for home sweet home Colorado around 1:00 p.m.

Also, we just wanted to let everyone know that the park does charge for parking. So we recommend carpooling! There is also free parking around the park. You only have to pay in the parking lots. See everyone soon!!!

Shilo Inn

Tyler and I are going to be staying at the Shilo Inn in CDA, as will some of Tyler's family. We just wanted to let everyone know that this is where we found the best rate. Plus, it's only about 10 minutes away from the park, lots of restaurants nearby, and it has an indoor swimming pool.

Keets

We got our little puppy Keets from a rescue place. He's the cutest little mutt in the world. He looks like a rotweiller, but he has his long tail and is mixed with heeler and who knows what else.
When we first started taking Keets for walks, he would get so tired that he would just lay down in the street. Or he was just being lazy.

Tyler makes Keets eats his underwear, instead of kibble.

Yep, we lay on the floor, while Keets cuddles up on the couch.

There's Keets hiding from us on his first day at his new home.

He always climbs on Tyler's stomach.

Christmas and New Years Pics

Christmas at my mama's.

Sledding in McCall.

Tyler and ice-skating.
P.S. If you go skating with Tyler, he will try to knock you down!

Me and Tyler playing with the frames on his camera.

On actual Christmas day, Tyler and I ate spaghetti from Safeway and went to the movies. It was very relaxing and nice after all of the traveling that we had done! We moved into our house on December 23, but we didn't get our stuff until...I think it was January 12? Anyways, while we waited for our stuff, we went to McCall for New Year's and got to see everyone. We went sledding and ice-skating, and had a lot of fun. Then we went to Anaconda and got to see my new baby nephew and my family. It was a quick trip, but a lot of fun. Busiest holiday ever!

Traveling schedule

Here's is Michelle's tentative traveling schedule. Tyler will fly out at some point if/when he gets time off work. Hopefully he can make it to the reception, or I'll be looking for a stand-in.

Anyways, this is all in August, and of course subject to change. (In fact, it is very likely knowing me.)

10: Driving to Anaconda
15: Driving to Missoula
16: Driving to Moscow
19: Driving to Coeur d'Alene
21: RECEPTION!!!
23: Driving home...just to start school...again.

Thanksgiving and House hunting

Tyler and Chris beating up poor Matt.

Karra, Grandma Jo, Matt, Tyler, Me, & Afton eating some Turkey dinner.

Over Thanksgiving, Tyler and I visited Colorado to spend time with his extended family and find a house! We didn't take very many pictures for some reason, but we had a really great time and we found a house!

BOLC 2 and 3

Tyler in front of a big wheel at the museum...with an Idaho shirt on, of course. :)

The arch.

Train in the spaghetti factory.

Toby Keith sign.

It's hard to get both of our full faces in a picture this close!

The pictures are actually backwards as far as order goes. Tyler went to BOLC II (Basic Officer Leadership Course) at Fort Sill, Oklahoma (where we got married). While we were there we explored Bricktown (and went to a yummy spaghetti place, hence the train), Toby Keith Bar and Grill, and went to the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial. When we were traveling to Knox, we stopped in St. Louis. We rode inside the HUGE arch, and visited the Westward Expansion museum inside. It was pretty neat.

Hotel information

Here is some hotel information. We didn't choose one hotel and reserve a bunch of rooms, becasuse we thought it would be best for everyone to be able to pick their own lodging preferences. Here is some contact information for some that will hopefully help.

The Red Lion Hotel is the closest hotel to the park. It's about a hop and skip away. Here's the contact information for the hotel if anyone wants to check it out.
  • redlion.rdln.com
  • 414 E. First Avenue
  • Post Falls, ID 83854
  • (800) 733-5466

Other hotels in Post Falls:

  • Comfort Inn
  • Howard Johnson Express Inn
  • Sleep Inn Post Falls

There are also a lot of hotels in Coeur d'Alene, off Appleway, which may be cheaper and are only about 15 minutes away from the park:

  • Motel 6
  • La Quinta Inn
  • Comfort Inn Coeur d'Alene
  • Best Western
  • Days Inn
  • Guesthouse

The rates are changing all the time, and there are lots of deals you can get online. A good place to check too might be book.idahohotels.org.

Also, there are some camping spots and RV parking spots too:

  • Coeur d'Alene RV resort
  • Suntree RV park
  • U.S. Forestry department

So these are just a few options. Comment if we can help anyone look anything up or find something.

Invitations and August Pictures

So all of the invitations are out! If you didn't get one, then I offer you two explanations:

1. We didn't have your address.
2. Your mailman stole it and is now taking your spot. :)

But seriously, if you didn't get one and you know you should have gotten one, consider this your formal invitation! We don't want to leave anyone out, because we really want all of our friends and family to be there.

That being said, I am going to start adding pictures...starting with August pictures when we got married in good old Oklahoma.

Jamming the ring on.

The deed is done.

Hugging after the "I dos."

Tyler's ready for that kiss!

For everyone who got a "save-the-date" card that stated the reception date as Saturday, August 22nd, we aplogoize for the inconvenience. The date of the reception has officially changed to Friday, August 21st.

We realize that it is summer, and everyone has busy schedules. That being said, we would LOVE for all of our friends and family to be able to come celebrate with us, but we understand that life is hectic. So, please feel invited and welcome, but certainly not obligated.

We will be getting the official invitations out by the end of this week, and look forward to hearing from everyone. It is easiest to contact us by phone (text/call), email, or comment right here on our blog.

On our blog, we will be soon posting more information about the reception, hotel information, directions, and more. We're also going to add pictures of the things that we have done and places we have gone this past year, including more pictures of our courthouse wedding, our new house, and our puppy! So keep checking back!
